Securing a Place

The process of securing student accommodation with us is simple, here’s how it works:

  • Find properties you are interested in on our website;
  • Send a Viewing Request online and attend the viewing (viewing confirmation will be sent via email);
  • Once you’ve decided on the house or apartment you would like, make a request by email to see the Draft Tenancy agreement for the property (this could be the landlord’s or our own);
  • Having read and accepted the terms in the Draft Tenancy Agreement, pay a holding deposit and a small one-off admin fee to secure the property;
  • Sign contract(s) and guarantor agreement and hand them over to us.

When you are absolutely certain about which accommodation you would like, act quickly to avoid disappointment. Each tenant must pay a holding deposit and a one-off administration fee through the secure payment page, in order to guarantee rental of the desired property. (The holding deposit is converted into the actual deposit at the start of the tenancy and held in a government approved deposit protection scheme).

Download the StudentTenantFind draft tenancy agreement online (if you have been directed to do so by us), alternatively, you will be sent the landlord’s contract. Download the guarantor agreement online, ensuring it is signed by you and your guarantor, and post to the StudentTenantFind office along with a photocopy of your student ID. Completed contracts must be received by us within 10 days of you securing the property.

If the property is managed directly by the landlord, all completed documentation will be forwarded to them. All future contact should be made directly with your new landlord to find out things like your move-in date, when to collect keys and the maintenance issues procedure.

If the property is managed by StudentTenantFind, new tenants will be given an information pack about student accommodation and an online account area on our website. Online account areas allow tenants to do things like manage their tenancy, view rental statements and request maintenance repairs.
