About Student Accommodation in Birmingham

City Centre

Favoured by students from all of Birmingham's universities, the city centre provides a convenient location for student house, a stone's throw away from so many amenities. In the city centre, you can access entertain day and night, which plentiful shopping opportunities at the Bullring, which offers over 160 stylish shops and the Mailbox, hosting many designer stores, alongside restaurant and bars which are ideal for special occasions. Student lettings in the city centre tend to be more expensive that in other areas.

Selly Oak

Selly Oak is a lively student orientated town that offers those studying at the University of Birmingham exceptional transport links as well as that all important social life. Student accommodation situated here is a short walking distance to the University and an even shorter walk to the local train station which provides quick and regular trains to the heart of Birmingham city centre. Businesses here cater towards the student market providing all amenities that students require whether it's restocking your work supplies to stocking up for your big night out. There is also a large Tesco to pick up your groceries. Within Selly Oak, Bristol Street is the main road to find all the big named retailers, tasty restaurants and friendly pubs. For those keen sports enthusiasts there is also the Tiverton pool and leisure club which is situated just off Bristol Street.

Harborne

Harborne is a leafy green suburb mainly consisting of residential homes. This is perfect for those looking for student rentals in a much quieter location and looking to gain higher quality housing for cheaper prices. Although Harborne is not at the heart of the student community it is still within close walking distance to the University of Birmingham. The main high street provides students with all the essential amenities. Here there are local supermarkets, cafes, all major banks and a few pubs. Harborne high street also has a wide range of restaurants whether you fancy pizza, Indian or even Thai food, the wide range of choices will not fail to disappoint.

Edgbaston

Edgbaston is most famously renowned for its cricket club, which is home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club and as well as welcoming the England cricket team on a regular basis. It is also where the main campus of the University of Birmingham can be found, making Edgbaston popular for those looking to live in close proximity to the University. This area also provides student accommodation to those attending Aston University. Edgbaston boasts excellent transport links to the main city centre as well as to the main nightlife in Broad Street. Trains from the local Five Ways railway station offer 5 minute journeys to Birmingham New Street every 10 minutes. When you need to shop locally Hagley Road and Ladywood Middleway offer all student necessities with a Tesco Express, Sports Bar and Grill and many other local shops.

Perry Barr

Perry Barr is often first choice for student accommodation for those studying at Birmingham City University. The campus is situated within this town allowing for quick and easy travelling to the university. The centre of Birmingham is only a quick 15 minute train journey away and trains run from the Perry Barr station every 30 minutes. All student amenities can be found locally with the One Stop shopping centre offering big name retailers. For your food supplies the local Asda and 24 hour Tesco will provide you with everything needed. There is also a wide range of restaurants and fast food retailers making this an ideal location for students.

Erdington

Erdington is the choice of preference of those studying at Aston University who are looking to escape the city centre and find cheaper accommodation. There are frequent bus and train services to and from Birmingham New Street so that those living here do not have to miss out on all the fun the city centre has to offer. Trains from the local Erdington station take only 13 minutes and run every 10 minutes so travelling to lectures is quick and easy. The Central Square shopping centre offers a number of big name retailers, as well as the town centre providing a number of local supermarkets, food outlets and pubs.
