About Student Accommodation in Bristol

City centre

The city centre offers accommodation right in the heart of the action, with student housing options at much higher prices. Living in the city centre you will benefit from frequent and convenient transport links allowing easy access across all areas of Bristol.


Clifton is a highly sought after student area, with many unique bars, pubs and restaurants on offer. With Bristol University located in the centre of Clifton it is the perfect location for student lettings. The area is served by numerous transport links, allowing good access to the University of West England. Clifton's popularity as the student hotspot has driven slightly more expensive accommodation and living costs than other student areas, so it may not be suitable for those trying to find bargain accommodation.


Cotham is a very popular area for student lettings with Bristol University students, harbouring a real campus feel and a cosy atmosphere. Quirky and laid back, hosting chilled-out bars with plenty fast food outlets and organic delis, Cotham is frequently chosen by students. Great location with plenty of transport links to the city centre and beyond.


Although residential, Redland is a quieter area popular with older students. Located around the corner from The Downs, there are opportunities to engage in sports and other recreational activities, with plenty of picnics in the summer. Redland is within walking distance to Whiteladies Road, Bristol University, the city centre and the zoo.

Gloucester road

Gloucester Road is an alternative bohemian area filled with eclectic bars, hosting student accommodation for students from both Universities. There are great transport links, and for the sporty types, cycling opportunities to the University of West England. Students here are spoiled for choice, with varying standards of accommodation suited to a range of budgets.


Known as 'Fishponds village', the area harbours a small town feel. It's a quieter student area popular with University of West England students due to its perfect location to the University. Fishponds is packed with many local pubs and independent eateries to suit all tastes. If you have a car this will be the area of choice, as there is copious availability of on-street parking.


Horfield is a popular area for student lettings, with great transport links to the city centre and many parking opportunities. Great for Bristol University students due to the close proximity to the campus. Horfield is home to the Bristol rugby ground, fostering a great community feel on match days. Although local amenities are limited, you'll never be stuck as the amenities on Gloucester road are just around the corner.
