About Student Accommodation in Oxford

City centre

Perfect central location, allowing easy access to the rest of the city. Although the area in popular with students from both universities, student housing is limited as most of the city centre accommodation is owned the University of Oxford.


Jericho is a trendy and elegant area of town, making it a hot spot for student lettings. It is very close to the city centre, but has the vibe of a cosmopolitan village. With a variety of boutiques, bookshops and entertainment on every corner there is something to suit all tastes. Jericho is a popular student area with restaurants and gourmet coffee shops a plenty, as well as chic cocktail bars, with rent pricier than surrounding areas.

East Oxford

East Oxford incorporates the areas of St Clements, which offers a range of accommodation from small apartments to large townhouses and Cowley Road, which is one of the most sought after areas for accommodation by students. East Oxford is the alternative side of Oxford, showcasing street murals and a variety of multicultural restaurants. The area is vibrant and exciting, filled with a multitude of bars and pubs and is relatively cheap.

Iffley Road and Iffley Fields

A popular student area, with similar housing styles to Cowley Road. Lots of varied housing on offer, ranging from small apartments to large 7 bedroom houses. Although conveniently located a short walk away from the city centre, there are also frequent bus services operating in the area.


Headington is the perfect housing area for Oxford Brookes students, as it is where the Gipsy Lane and Headington Hill campuses are located. You are spoiled for choice with a great range of accommodation available, with most situated within walking distance of the university. The area is also popular with medics, as the John Radcliffe, Warneford and Churchill hospitals are all nearby. With plenty on offer, Headington boasts a variety of shops and restaurants. Rent prices here are fairly cheap and there are great bus links into the city centre.


Marston is a quieter village, located right next to the University Parks, providing easy cycle access to the Oxford University science departments, making the area especially popular with academics and postgraduate students. Marston is also popular with Oxford Brookes students due to the great transport links to Headington and the city centre.

Osney and Botley Road

Osney is a perfect location for accommodating students at either University, with it being a 5 to 10 minute walk to both the city centre and all of the Oxford University colleges. It is also on a direct Oxford Brookes bus route to the Harcourt Hill campus and the Westminster Institute of Education. There are plenty of transport links, including a train station, so you can easily access other parts of the country.

Summertown and Banbury Road

A friendly area predominantly occupied by Oxford University students, due to the close location to a number of colleges. Student accommodation in this area can be limited however as many of the properties are owned by Oxford University. Plenty of amenities nearby.
