About Student Accommodation in Sheffield

City centre

The city centre boasts a great location, convenient for students at both Universities, especially close for Sheffield Hallam students. Great choice of accommodation right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of the city and all of its amenities, but rents are generally at a higher price.

London road and Abbeydale Road area

Famous for its 'Antique Quarter', with a mixture of outlets, bars, restaurants and takeaways from all over the world and many local amenities, this area is heaving with students. Perfectly positioned around the main roads in and out of Sheffield, you will never be stuck for transport to the city centre and beyond.


Broomhill is the most popular destination for student lettings in the city, as it is exceptionally close to the Sheffield University campus, as well as being near the Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus. The area in considered as a vibrant and self contained suburb with every imaginable local amenity for work and leisure. Broomhill holds numerous restaurants and takeaways appealing to all tastes and budgets, including the infamous “Balti King”. Students love Broomhill for its central location and easy access to the vibrant nightlife of the city centre and Ecclesall Road.

Brocco Bank

Positioned between Hunters Bar and Broomhill, a lovely little suburb providing an ideal location for Sheffield University student housing with local amenities nearby. Brocco Bank is popular with students and is within walking distance to Ecclesall Road and Endcliffe Park.


A busy student area situated near the Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus. Great location, within reach of Ecclesall Road, providing access to a lively mixture of shops, restaurants and bars. Broomhall is largely occupied with students from both Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam University due to its favourable location to both. Situated only a short walk away from West Street and the city centre.


The close proximity to both Sheffield Halllam Collegiate and the City Centre campuses make Sharrow a great location for student lettings. Positioned between Ecclesall Road and London Road, there's great access to a huge range of local amenities, shops, restaurants and bars. It is a dynamic area, with plenty of scope for both lively activities and the more mundane grocery shops in one of Sharrow's large supermarkets. Over the years Sharrow has become increasingly popular with Sheffield Hallam Students. Rent is slightly cheaper than other parts of the city, making it an attractive area for accommodating students at both Universities.

Ecclesall Road

Known as “The Golden Mile” for its cosmopolitan bars, trendy pubs, cafes, shops and boutiques; it is full of activity during both during the day and at night. You are well catered for with a 24 hour convenience store and numerous fast food shops. Served by many bus routes, allowing for easy access to the city centre and Hallam City Campus, with the Collegiate Crescent Campus right on the doorstep allows Ecclesall road to remain a popular destination for students to seek housing in.


Ideal location for University of Sheffield Students, with regular transport to reach Sheffield Hallam City Campus in less than 10 minutes. Crookesmoor hosts lots of pubs and bars, offering themed nights, cheap drinks and good pub food. The multitude of shops and takeaways offering an international selection of choices encourage students to opt for accommodation in this area. The area is also home to the Sheffield University Goodwin sports hall, as well as Crookesmoor Park, with its magnificent lake.
